Hate Crimes

Protesters demand U.S. get tough on hate crimes [from CNN]

Wouldn't you say that all crimes are 'hateful?' So why add a distinction of crimes that is already implied by the word? It seems worthless to me.

Editor's Note: I do think ALL crimes should be punished, regardless of who is the perpetrator and who is the victim.
